Job Vacancy at Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) for Standards Officers, Higher Technical Officers, Statisticians and Computer Scientists

Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) was established in 1971 as the statutory body vested with the responsibility of standardizing and regulating the quality of all products in Nigeria. Its function anchors on investigating the quality of facilities, materials and products in Nigeria, and instituting a quality assurance system for the certification of factories, products and laboratories.

SON helps to identify those goods which pose the highest risk to consumers in Nigeria and ensure that their claims of safety are verified before they are exported to Nigeria. This will help ensure that Nigerian consumers are protected from unsafe and sub-standard goods as well as ensuring that Nigerian manufacturers are not subjected to unfair competition from such goods.

In the bid to expand its core science Human Resources capacity base to better meet the growing demands for its services, SON is offering opportunity to diligent and result oriented applicants seeking to develop their careers in an organization with the culture of high performance and pursuit of excellence.

Applications are expected from candidates who have minimum of Bachelor degree or HND in the following cadre specific qualification:

Cadres and Required Qualification:

1. REFERENCE: SO2/HTO

CADRE: Standards Officer II/Higher Technical Officer

QUALIFICATION:

(Laboratory Sciences; Physical Sciences -Chemistry; Microbiology; Biochemistry; Physics; Agriculture; Botany; Zoology; Industrial Chemistry)

2. REFERENCE: SE2/HTO

CADRE: Standards Engineer II/ Higher Technical Officer

QUALIFICATION:

(Engineering - Civil; Mechanical; Chemical; Electrical; Metallurgy & Material; Mineral & Mining)

3. REFERENCE: SCS/HTO

CADRE: Statistician, Computer Scientist/ Higher Technical Officer

QUALIFICATION:


(Mathematics; Statistics; Computer Studies.)
