Job Vacancy for Program Officer at Partners for Development (PFD)

Partners for Development (PFD) is an international non-profit organization with a mission to work with underserved populations to improve quality of life.

PFD’s overarching goal is to improve conditions for rural communities that are vulnerable due to poverty, inaccessibility, recent conflict or other forms of upheaval. PFD focuses on strengthening community skills in our four core program areas: food security and nutrition, health, livelihood and enterprise development and climate adaptation.

PFD is implementing a Health Access through Local Empowerment (HALE) project that will contribute to accomplishing Targeted States High Impact Project (TSHIP) institutional, service delivery, community participation and policy objectives in three local government areas of Bauchi State.

The Project is seeking qualified candidates with the ability to work in a team, result oriented, reliable, innovative and focused to join PFD team for the following positions.

Job Title: Program Officer

The position will be based in Bauchi with travel necessary. The successful applicant will be reporting to Bauchi State Program Manager

Key Responsibilities

The Program Officer will oversee field level implementation of the project, particularly the community mobilization and health education aspects in line with PFD’s guidelines to ensure the overall project objectives are achieved.

Requirements

A college degree or equivalent in health/development or social sciences with minimum of 3 years previous experience with focus on community mobilization. Health and/or Behaviour Change Coomunication as well as Family Planning/Reproductive Health programming department of a development agency/NGO. Strong communication, including computer literacy as well as writing skills are desired.
