Job Title: Webmaster

Overall Purpose of Job:

The webmaster is responsible for the planning and execution of all e-solutions for group and entities. Within approved policy and authority limits, the webmaster projects the image of the company by ensuring dynamism and currency of both the website, intranet, social media and all other e-solutions.

Responsibilities:

Strategic

• Develop and manage corporate and entities websites subject to Corporate Communications Manager/Head Corporate Communications approval

• Emplace/update anti-phishing website to ensure Oando’s brand identity is not passed on for scams, illegal promos etc


• Provides online media monitoring, information dissemination etc.


• Ensures a robust back up plan for all hosted websites and domains to be current in rental and aligns with applicable laws whilst ensuring no downtime on the corporate and entities website


• Copyright protection for all company’s business ideas and contents on the website and other electronic platforms.


• Conceptualize e-solutions for external in and internal communications such as e-invites, e-newsletters, surveys etc using the portals


• Generate improvement ideas for the site to maintain dynamism

Operational

• Monitor the website/intranet daily to ensure it is working smoothly and contents are current and free of errors


• Ensures website is viewable by all browsers


• Constantly views links and ensure all are active and downloadable


• File security on the web and access control to sensitive uploads


• Periodic update all text, flash and graphic content to maintain fresh look and feel

• Ensures Firewall is active to prevent hackers or other acts of destruction or theft.


• Ensures the website remains a valuable resource for all visitors particularly investors.


• Upload both sites with basic information from the organization and maintain up to date back files

• Monthly tracking of website visitors to distill webtrack report


• Constantly check website for bugs or other problems that may present loading of pictures.


• Effective management of Content Management Systems

• Manage relationship with service providers

Person Specification:

• A good first degree in IT, web design.


• 3-5 years’ experience in operational experience in programming language, website designing and maintenance obtained within a reputable and structured business environment preferably IT consultancy and web design agencies

 Required Competencies:

 ·         HTML

·         PHP, JAVA

·         Flash (Macromedia)

·         Dreamweaver or any equivalent

·         Good experience with Content Management Systems
